WEEK NIGHTS, RESIDENTIALS, MEALS, ETC.
The NTMTC year covers 31 weeks, and is made up of three terms, each of approximately 10 weeks. Click here for dates and descriptions of each term.
Week nights
We have a week night study session each week, repeated on different nights in two centres. One is on Tuesdays for students from the London area, and is based on our office premises in the crypt of the parish church of St George-in-the-East, London E1. We use the church upstairs for our worship. The other, on Thursdays, for students from Essex, is based on the Chapter House of Chelmsford Cathedral. We use the cathedral itself for our evening meal and worship.
On Tuesday evenings at St George-in-the-East we meet from 6.30 to 9.30pm. On Thursday evenings in Chelmsford we meet from 6.15 to 9.15pm. Each evening includes supper, worship and a 105-minute teaching and learning session.
Residentials
Our residential weekends and study weeks are held at All Saints Pastoral Centre, London Colney, near St Albans.
There are seven residential weekends during the year, each lasting from 7.00pm on Friday until about 11.45am on Sunday. The programme also includes one residential week (usually during the school half-term in October), which starts on a Friday evening and ends with supper the following Friday.
Shared meals
Meals on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and at residentials are an integral part of the process of ministerial formation. Their cost is included in our fees and all our students are expected to attend. |
